Trump betrayal of Kurd allies
On Sunday, President Trump told Turkish dictator Erdogan he will withdraw US troops from northern Syria, as Erdogan prepares to send troops in. Many people in U.S. leadership positions fear Turkey will wipe out their Kurd enemies who are key US allies in the fight against ISIS, opening up northern Syria for ISIS to rise once again. Russia, Syria, Iran, Turkey, and ISIS would all benefit from such a US troop withdrawal, and put Israel into more jeopardy.
“I have a little conflict of interest because I have a major, major building in Istanbul and it’s a tremendously successful job,” “It’s called Trump Towers — two towers instead of one, not the usual one, it’s two.” Trump followed up with critics against the Syrian withdrawal and the Erdogan request with a tweet: “if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey”.
