CHECKPOINTS and Road Blocks - in a free country?
Jan MacKay is opposed to the numerous roadside checkpoints imposed against passenger vehicles.
We are NOT subjects of a totalitarian police state, but the state certainly does act like it.
If elected, Jan will propose modifications to Chapter 20, to prevent state, county, and municipal governments from setting up roadside checkpoints and roadblocks of non-commercial vehicles unless there is sufficient reason. The sufficient reasons would be common sense reasons such as escaped prisoners in the vicinity, and bridge out and other reasons of a valid emergency nature.
